Description

**In the USA there is an exemption for trades people carrying dangerous goods to be used on a daily bases for their work. This exemption is known as: MATERIALS OF TRADE EXEMPTIONS

In Canada we do not have the same section in our regulations however there are a number of exemptions in the regulations that can be used by trades people who are transporting dangerous goods on a daily basis. For example: refrigeration technicians, painters, welders, large machinery operators, pavers, plumbers, companies supplying and delivering dangerous goods to the construction trades, etc

This course covers all of the exemptions for trades currently available in the regulations as well as it explains how the Transportation of Dangerous goods regulations could affect trades personnel.

The course is approximately 2 hours long and includes a copy of the presentation, handouts relative to the course and ongoing consultation.
Introduction to the Dangerous Goods regulations
  • How do the regulations work: What is a shipping name, UN number, Packing group?
  • Classes of Dangerous Goods
  • Training requirements
  • Enforcement of the regulations
  • Fines in Ontario
  • Due Diligence defence
  • Responsibilities of the shipper
  • Responsibilities of the person transporting the dangerous goods
  • Documentation (if any) required
  • Safety Marks required
  • 16 possible exemptions for trades
  • What if you don’t fall under any of the exemptions?

"Just wanted to say, as one of the participants, that Dave was one of the best trainers I  have had the pleasure of being trained by.

The consensus was the same will all participants, so for that thank you. Can be a very dry subject without a great presenter.!!!!"
